V8 swap motor mounts for an S-10 have the same mount pattern as the engine mounts on an Astro van. This gives me amazing ideas.

Or with a bit of fab work, you can have a mid engined van!

Isn’t a Safari/Astro basically just an S-10 with a more cab-over design? I was under the impression that they were largely identical underneath.

The 4.3 is literally just the 5.7 minus 2 cylinders. Engine swaps are pretty easy I hear.

Here’s what I wanna see:
Safari/Astro chassis-cab with said V8 swap, 4WD, body & suspension lift.
Go forth, young man.

No. An Astro is a unique unibody+front subframe.
